MCEE 2015: A prize for Regulvar's intercom

During the latest edition of MCEE, Canada’s largest plumbing, HVAC, hydronic, electrical and lighting expo, Regulvar was awarded a prize for new product in the Software, controls and accessories category for its innovative multifunction touchscreen intercom system.

Contech 2014: Regulvar wins a prize for its innovative touch screen intercom

Each year, Contech organises many events, including Exposition Montréal which takes place in Montreal's Palais des congrès. This event brings together close to 300 exhibitors and welcomes 2000 visitors, and offers designers, building managers and builders the opportunity to discover new products and technologies.

On this occasion, Contech awards differents prizes destined to underline the excellence of Quebec's businesses. This year, Régulvar was given the prize for Technologies et produits innovateurs (Innovative products and technologies) in the Institutional, commercial, and industrial buildings category.

This prize recognizes the innovative work of the Research and development team and the design of a touch screen intercom intended mainly for educational institutions.

A new head office for Regulvar

Since 1974, the year Regulvar was founded by Yves Harel, Eng., the Company has enjoyed constant growth and now has close to 500 employees working at 12 branches. To better meet the Company's needs, the head office's activities have been transferred to a building in Laval on Industriel Blvd. purchased in 2010. Major renovations were done to integrate innovative systems, for instance geothermal energy, storage heaters, a solar wall, radiant floor heating, heating and air conditioning via ceiling convectors, a wireless room control system, lighting control and motorized blinds, as well as energy dashboards.

The building was inaugurated in 2014, just in time to celebrate Regulvar's 40^th anniversary.

Regulvar supports research in net-zero energy consumption

Regulvar is a member of the Smart Net-Zero Energy Buildings Strategic Network. The primary goal of this network of 45 universities and companies is to find ways to help Canadian buildings achieve zero average annual energy consumption. Regulvar will contribute $100,000 over five years—50% as a donation and 50% in expertise. Regulvar Inc. President Marc Dugré will sit on the Board of Directors.

Contech 2010: a “Coup de Cœur” for Regulvar

As mentioned on Contech’s Website: “Building Events are specialized trade shows bringing together, under a single roof, a host of suppliers in leading-edge products and services within the building industry. They include design, construction and management companies for institutional, industrial and residential buildings.” The organization strives to promote discussion between the various specialists in the construction industry, to stimulate their activities and to promote technological progress through various events.

To highlight the excellence of the participants, Contech awards various prizes and distinctions. In 2008, Regulvar received the Innovation Award in the “Sustainable Development - Innovative Product or Technology” category for its Regulvar Universal BACnet Interface (RUBI) Gateway and was awarded the “Coup de Coeur” certificate for its wireless valve actuator in October 2010. These certificates are awarded by a jury of architects, builders and building managers who are responsible for selecting the most interesting products for the industry as a whole.

Regulvar launches a new corporate identity

Since its founding in 1974, Regulvar developed on several fronts. Throughout its growth, the company expanded and modified its activities, and therefore wanted to update its image. Thus, the decision was taken in 2009 to rework the company’s visual identity so that it better reflects its corporate personality, and that it may be used consistently in all its activities.

The first step of this process resulted in the creation of a new logo. Inspired by its previous version, it reflects the evolution of the company while remaining true to its roots. It sports new colors that will set the tone for all communications media.

This initiative also led to the creation or improvement of a variety of communication tools, whose mission is to showcase the company to customers and partners, informing them about the field of building automation and effectively communicating information that meet to their expectations and needs. This newsletter, which was recently renamed Zone Regulvar, was the first to benefit from this goal towards improvement.

But the project that is at the heart of this rejuvenation is unquestionably this new website. In development for several months, it is now online. This site is a gateway that will give everyone a user-friendly access to information regarding Regulvar and the nature of the services offered. It is with pride that we thank you for your visit!

Regulvar promotes excellence

Regulvar believes it is important to promote academic excellence and foster success. To this end, the company regularly rewards deserving students by giving out grants. Last May, during La cérémonie des Lauriers organized by the Cégep of Saint-Hyacinthe, she rewarded the efforts of two students in the building services technology program, awarding each one a grant.

The Laurier d’or was presented to Nicolas Lussier-Lapointe, and the Laurier d’argent to Timothy Roy Bouchard. Congratulations to both winners. We wish them a successful career.

Earthright, A first prize for Regulvar

Delta Controls held its annual conference in March, and handed out the first EarthRight Award for Leadership in Sustainability and Energy Management. This prize was created as a way to pay tribute to the most remarkable project among those of all its Partners worldwide.

In recognition of its participation in La Cité Verte’s project in Quebec City, Regulvar was the first recipient of this award, and Mr. Marc Dugré was honored to accept the trophy presented by Delta’s president, Mr. Brian Goodchild.

This initiative is a testimonial to Delta’s commitment to environmental sustainability. For the last 30 years, the company has been developing products to facilitate energy consumption reduction for all types of buildings. It wishes to recognize the environmentally responsible practices of its customers and partners by highlighting their efforts and environmental commitments.

Since Regulvar shares Delta’s values in this regard, this award serves as a motivation to continue its pursuit of green solutions and the development of its expertise in this field.
